The Perfect Poncho

Katie Sturino / The 12ish Style

You know those days when you wish you could leave the house wrapped in a literal blanket? Well guess what, you can, just throw on a cozy poncho!

I hit the poncho trend hard in the 2000s and am ready to bring it back. You get the comfort of a giant scarf with armholes, plus it looks a little more special than a normal sweater or jacket. I’m all in!!

What could be cuter or more versatile than this black and charcoal plaid version?? I’m wearing it with a Marina Rinaldi black trouser for a classic look but you could also do it with a blush pencil skirt for something more festive or white jeans for a more casual look. A simple white long sleeve t-shirt is the perfect layering piece while statement earrings add a pop of color. A bright tote would look great too! However you style it, it’s the perfect easy (and warm) look for coffee or a lunch date.

Everything I’m wearing, down to the booties, is from Rue La La, an online style destination connecting world-class brands with the next-generation shopper. If you’re not already a member, it’s easy to join and unlock access to a ton of great brands (like Marina Rinaldi!) at great prices.

And don’t forget about holiday gifts — Rue LaLa has so much inventory and it’s all expertly curated so there’s a ton of cute stuff to pick from. This poncho would make a great gift for a friend, mom or sister and it’s one size fits all, making it as foolproof as a scarf but so much cooler!
