The word “challenge” is often synonymous with the phrase “swimsuit season,” but I’m telling you it doesn’t have to be. It’s no secret that swimsuit season is my favorite time of the year, and I want to help you find something that you love, and can rock with total confidence. I’ve rounded up my best tips, tricks, and resources below.

Long Sleeve Suits

I cannot say enough good things about Cover swimsuits. Their athletic cuts are super flattering for all shapes and sizes, and their suits have SPF 50, so worrying about sunburn is a non-issue. They come in an array of colors and patterns, so you can be bold with a solid color or make a splash with a pattern. Not to mention, you feel like a badass surfer chick!

Less is More

Ashley Graham basically read my mind when she released her first swimwear collection on SwimsuitsForAll. There are sexy options in a range of sizes. Take it right from Graham, “I want women of all shapes and sizes to feel like they can buy themselves something special and luxurious. I want it to be empowering. I’m not out to make the token palm tree suits we see everywhere,” and to that I say “YESSSS!” I find that the smaller the suit, the more flattering it can be, so don’t be afraid to try things like cutouts or string bikinis.

A Pop of Color and a Little Texture

Often times, women with curves feel they should not wear anything with embellishments or ruffles as it will add in a negative way. However, I’ve never gotten more love than I have in this bold swimsuit by Aerie. Plus, I love the fact that Aerie, the maker of this suit doesn’t retouch their swim advertisements. Their suits are cute, affordable at a variety of great price points, and they make me feel great with their body positivity message.

Blue ruffle Aerie suit (in picture above, at start of post) sold out, but similar:
