Carmakoma’s Heidie Lykke Talks Copenhagen

IMG_0195

Hallo! I’m in Berlin for a conference this week – can’t wait to tell you all about it!

After Berlin I’m taking a couple tourist days to visit Copenhagen and Paris. I’ve been to Paris many times before, but Copenhangen has been on my bucket list for a while so I’m fired up!

To point me in the right direction, I connected with Carmakoma Creative Director and Copenhagen local Heidie Lykke. Carmakoma is a favorite 12ish brand – my most recent must-have being this peasant blouse – and I just knew Heidie would know where to send me during my 24 hours in her city.

Is Copenhagen on your bucket list? Keep reading for Heidie’s insider recos!

What are the restaurants for dinner?

Depending on your preference, I love this Sushi and this Thai food.

Best place to get a coffee?

Riccos!

Best way to get around town?

Bicycle. There are lot of places to rent – Copenhagen Bicycles has good service.

What’s your favorite hotel to recommend to visitors?

I love to stay at Kong Arthur. The hotel is a good friend of the Carmakoma family and offers great service.

Best shopping for women?

Strøget and østergade are good shopping areas with both high street and luxury stores.

Best shopping for home items?

HayAlso the city part in Copenhagen Frederiksberg (Stor Kongens gade) is good for shopping and actually this street has some great stores for home and interior.

Favorite way to spend a Saturday?

I had the best and most romantic Saturday with my boyfriend around 1 month ago.

We just browsed through Copenhagen on Bicycles, went to Papirøen ( a foodhall by the waterfront ) and after that we visited a street party in Meatpacking district in Copenhagen (not to be compared to the Meatpacking district in NY but still cool and nice 😉

Thanks Heidie, I’ll be checking it all out! Wondering what I brought with me? Shop my packing list below!
