Apartment Makeover: My Entryway

GENEVIEVE GARRUPPO FOR HOMEPOLISH featuring designer TINA RICH

If you saw yesterday’s Beverly Hills Hotel inspired bedroom reveal, you know it’s apartment makeover week here on the blog! Today I’m sharing my entryway, which I tackled with Homepolish designer Tina Rich to transform it into a cute and functional space.

The entryway needed to set the mood for the whole apartment, which meant it had to be fun and not too serious but definitely pulled together and of course dog friendly. Since there are few things I like more than a star print, this Chasing Paper Star Bright wallpaper (removable, of course) was the perfect jumping off point. The subtle pattern works with all the other bolder patterns in the apartment and the white background feels bright and airy.

On the walls I knew I wanted some personalized dog artwork but not the weird creepy kind. Lark + Raven totally delivered with these fun pup portraits. Pants smiling at me in green doggles equals instant happiness!

Of course no entryway is complete without a gossip bench. Where else you gonna do your gossip??! Plus the built in storage on this Joss & Main one is very useful during non-gossip moments (mine is filled with skin care and toiletries, true story).

The only other piece of furniture needed in here was a console table. We didn’t want the corner to feel too crowded so this clear Joss & Main option was the perfect choice. We styled it with a giant palm leaf to connect the design to the bedroom and a Jonathan Adler elephant dish for keys. One of my best friends, who is Indian, pointed out how revered elephants are in her culture and now every time I drop my keys I feel a very welcoming and positive energy!

For more organization, this Serena & Lily basket provides much needed dog storage and is key to keeping my gossip bench uncluttered. Plus it’s got that rich hippie vibe every home needs.

And finally, grounding it all is this Pottery Barn zebra rug. It’s a great way to get that hide rug look without committing to an actual hide. Also it’s great for hiding dirt 😉

My entryway might be on the small side, but I love how we were able to max the space with the right furniture and organizational accessories. Cute, functional and always ready for an impromptu gossip sesh, it’s basically the entry of my dreams!
